Meet the Doctors

 Martha Hatchett, DVM

 Rachel Parks Brautigam, DVM

 Dr. Hatchett started her career as a small child by "rescuing" wildlife from the yard and "doctoring" the family pets.  She graduated from Swarthmore College in 1981 and from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985.  She opened West Valley Animal Hospital in 1997 after practicing small animal medicine full time in the Lehigh Valley since 1987.  She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association and the Lehigh Valley Veterinary Medical Association.  Her pet loves include a dog, six cats and two guinea pigs.  Her main interests other than animals are cooking and gardening.

Dr. Brautigam and "Artie"

Dr. Brautigam is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and wanted to become a veterinarian from the age of eleven.  She graduated from Ohio State University in 2005.  After practicing small animal medicine in Columbus, Ohio, she moved to Pennsylvania in 2006 and worked for the Center for Animal Health and Welfare in Easton.  She joined Dr. Hatchett and the West Valley Team in April 2007.   In her free time, she enjoys spoiling her Great Danes Artie and Ruby and her seven cats.  Her other interests include gardening and browsing antique malls.
